"Not for College Days Alone" PI DEUTERON CHAPTER OF PHI GAMMA DELTA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS • SPRING 2016 T he 2015 year was a very busy one at 1540 Louisiana. The first phase of our renovations was completed and it looks great! Much of the work was completed on the main floor and the exterior. However, we still have more work to do, including renovation of the second- and third-floor bathrooms and construction of the Senior Suites in the basement. But when the renovations are completed, our house will be the best Fraternity house at KU. We will have a final phase of renovation coming up in the summer of 2016 or 2017. Timing for the final phase will depend upon the rate at which we are able to raise the final $1 million necessary to complete our campaign. More powerful than the physical aspects of the renovation has been the upswing in pride among the men of Phi Gamma Delta, both in our Undergraduate Brothers and our Graduate Brothers. The Undergraduate Brothers are a wonderful group of young men and have all of the traits we look for in our Brothers. If you have not been to the Chapter House recently, please stop by if you're in the area and see for yourself what a fine, bright, and personable group of young men we have. The capital campaign to raise $3.5 million for the renovation of the house continues to be a great success, with the total pledged to date in excess of $2.5 million. As is true with the renovation itself, the campaign effort has generated many benefits in addition to the funds raised. Foremost among them is a huge increase in the connection among the Graduate Brothers of Pi Deuteron, both among themselves, as well as with the Undergraduate Brothers. If you are in the latter category and have helped to raise the funds for the renovation, we owe you a great debt of gratitude. Thank you for your efforts past, present, and future to realize the vision we have for our Chapter. It has personally been a pleasure and a privilege to work with you on this campaign. You can also feel the enormous energy, pride, and enthusiasm of the young men in the house. They are seeing the results of our Mighty Proud campaign and the WE'RE MIGHTY PROUD • Morale Is Up and Renovations Provide Huge Benefits to Chapter • Help Us Finish the Renovations with a Gift or Pledge Today Fourth floor construction in August 2015. renovations in so many tangible and intangible ways. We know they are extremely thankful and grateful to all Graduate Brothers involved. If you haven't been engaged with the Chapter recently, give some thought to how you might bring your special qualities to the mix. Whether it's getting involved in a volunteer capacity, giving a gift, or being a mentor, we know that you will be glad of the time spent. We hope that you, too, continue to be Mighty Proud!
