Not only will our active Chapter have a new physical house, but we will be adapting to changes in recruitment, financing, conduct, and culture. In a time when fraternity recruitment has become increasingly competitive on this campus, a new Chapter House will provide the key to our Chapter achieving first-tier status. DESPITE CHALLENGES, BETA ETA SUCCEEDS Although our fraternity has had to overcome many challenges over the last decade, we persevered. I believe that we are stronger now than we have been in recent times. Even though we are competing against other fraternities on this campus with more manpower, funding, and brand new chapter houses, we are still showing the campus, community, and TKE nation the pride that we have in this fraternity. CHAPTER WELCOMES 19 NEW MEMBERS Recruitment is an excellent example of our members' hard work. We signed 19 men last semester, the largest pledge class since 2000. Only the fraternities with new Chapter Houses managed to rush larger pledge classes. Furthermore, we competed aggressively this semester in Penny Wars, an annual competition that determines the band order of Greek Sing, and we placed first out of the competing 28 chapters. BETA ETA TOP CHAPTER INTERNATIONALLY Beta Eta is one of the most prestigious TKE Chapters internationally. We have won countless awards and recognitions, individually and as a Chapter. We are the only Chapter to have a member receive the National All-Teke, All-Academic award two years in a row and to win the Teke Nation Tournament three years in a row. Furthermore, we have 310 Fraters who have donated to the TKE Educational Foundation, 11 Fraters who have earned the title of Life Loyal Teke, and have received 51 national Lifetime Chapter awards. None of these achievements would be possible without the loyal support and dedication from our alumni. MEMBERS EXCITED FOR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES Fraters, we are moving in a great direction. We will no doubt have challenges as we transition into a new Chapter House, but I sincerely believe that this direction is critical for our survival on this campus. I'm excited to be a part of building the foundation for future Fraters. I want to ensure they have the opportunity to have the same meaningful experience that I have had. We are extremely grateful for all the support and guidance we have received from alumni. I encourage you to join us for the TKE golf tournament on June 18 and meet the outstanding members of our Chapter. Yours in the Bond, Joshua Nixon '13, BH1093 Prytanis jmnbqb@mst.edu (417) 827-1715 Alumni, join us for the TKE Golf Outing on June 18!
