DDD page 3 "I learned how to call sisters of all ages to talk about what Delta Xi meant to us and to ask for participation in our campaign," said Nancy. "I caught up with sisters whom I hadn't talked to since college days. Through these hours on the phone, I heard wonderful stories about life in Delta Xi through the years." Nancy and her husband, John, a Mizzou Beta Theta Pi, live in St. Louis and have two children and one grandson. Nancy studied elementary education and Spanish, earning a master's degree in education. She was a teacher for 25 years, retiring in 2013. She has been a member of the House Corporation, sat on the Capital Campaign Committee, co- chaired the Centennial Celebration, and is active in the St. Louis Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter. Her daughter is a Tri Delta from the University of Virginia. Teresa lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with her husband, Bruce, a Mizzou Delta Upsilon she met on a blind date set up by a Tri Delta sister. They have two children and two granddaughters. Teresa was a special education teacher and still substitute teaches part time. She is a member of the Shawnee Mission Alumnae Chapter, a member of the House Corporation, and served as campaign chairman for the Chapter House renovation. Perpetuating the Bonds of Sisterhood (Continued from page 1) Kimberly Jenne, Southeast Missouri State '95, Assumes Chapter Advisor Position P lease join us in welcoming Kimberly Jenne, Southeast Missouri State '95, as the new chapter advisor for Delta Xi. Kim grew up in southern Illinois and, as an undergraduate, served as vice president of chapter development and in Panhellenic leadership positions. After graduation, she moved to St. Louis and started a 10-year career with an advertising agency before moving on to a second career in ministry. Kim earned a master's degree in divinity from Emory and is an ordained United Methodist minister. She now works as the director of connectional ministries and serves as a communications officer, handling crisis management, media, and marketing, as well as discipleship ministries. In her moves for her career, Kim has remained engaged in Tri Delta through both chapter advising positions and alumnae groups. When Sanny Jackson Moore '52 found out that Kim would be moving to Columbia for her job, she told Kim about the need for a chapter advisor at Delta Xi. Soon, Tri Delta's central region coordinator made a call asking Kim to consider the position, which she accepted. "My first semester was a steep learning curve, getting to know the chapter and the leaders," said Kim. "I spent most of my time around standards and we worked on chapter morale and accountability." "This semester's theme is training, working with our new officers council to equip and train them for their role in the chapter. Throughout this semester, we'll get administrative and policy work completed and set up for a strong fall." From the alumnae side, Kim would like to see more sisters come together in the Columbia area. "It's rare to have a college chapter without an official alumnae chapter, so we're going to explore restarting an alumnae chapter. There are more than 100 DDD alumnae in the area, so I'm hopeful that we'll be able to gather and create a wonderful fellowship." Kim can be reached at kimberly.jenne@gmail.com. Undergraduate Corner We Talk with Hanna Yates '12 Why did you join Tri Delta? I had a strong connection in each conversation I had during recruitment. Every woman I spoke to was very passionate about Tri Delta in a unique way and truly cared about what I had to say. I could tell that there was a strong sisterhood among the girls. What degree are you working on? A major in broadcast television-sports journalism, with a minor in business. I'll graduate this spring. Where do you hope your studies will take you? I hope to one day work as a reporter for a sports networking channel or a professional sporting team. I would love the opportunity to sideline report as well as write and produce feature stories on specific sports teams and players in order to tell a more in-depth story. What internship experiences have you had thus far? Over a summer, I was an intern for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, while also working with the St. Louis Rams. I was a broadcast/marketing intern for St. Jude, helping to plan fundraising events for the hospital. Last summer, I reported at KOMU-8 News, an NBC affiliate station, and anchored for Tasty Productions. What offices have you held in the chapter? I was body image chairman, encouraging members to pursue a healthy mind, body, and soul. I also helped lead the philanthropy committee. What has your undergraduate experience meant to you? Tri Delta has truly changed my outlook on life and has given me lifelong friends who I never would have met otherwise. The Delta Xi Chapter is full of incredible women and I have loved being a part of it every second that I've been here.
