Main Street, Quartzsite • 928-927-6310 by Joanne Winer The 20th Annual Party in the Park to celebrate Celia's Rainbow Gardens will take place on Sun- day, March 13 starting at noon at the dance pavilion. The lunch includes burgers, hot dogs, cole- slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, baked beans, cake and lemonade. The lunch is free, and donation cans will be set up for anyone who can donate to help with the cost of the meal. There will be lots of great entertainment for the afternoon as well. Blue Coyote Band will be playing country music. Paul Winer will also be there to play boogie/ woogie and blues accompanied by Ralph Martin on one-string wash- 20th Annual Party in the Park set for March 13 tub bass, Buddy Apfel on trombone and tuba, and Steve Hohstadt on guitar. Lots of great music! There will also be a special tribute to the late Jerry Mullins, who just passed away in November and had been a strong supporter of the Gardens by playing and donating his time for every spaghetti dinner fundraiser and party in the park for the past 16 years. He is very sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and his music. There will also be a raffle and a 50/50 drawing, with the tickets being $1 each or 6 for $5 to help cover the cost of the food and work in the Gardens. Come on out and enjoy a fun day! For further information, please call Joanne at 928-927-6551. By Dennis Dole Quartzsite, AZ - VFW Post 769 held their raffle of a 2015 RZR 570 on February 6th. The Win- ner, Pete Brinkwater, of Riverside CA was not present to receive the $10,174.00 Side by Side ATV. The VFW Called Mr. Brinkwater within 5 minutes of the drawing and we had to get Sean Austin of Rice Ranch, who sold the winning ticket, to convince him that this was not a joke. Mr. Brinkwater was in Quartzsite on Saturday February 13th to pick up the Prize. VFW Raffles RZR All in all it was a successful raffle netting the VFW over $5,000. Which will purchase 1 or possibly 2 mobility scooters for local vets. The presentation will be April 2, 2016 at the All Fools Rally. VFW is currently working hard to have an ATV Poker Run that day but is still waiting on the BLM's approval. We will keep you informed on the status of the Poker Run. They have come out many times because I keep falling. Thank you to John, a handy man for everything. He is from Lake Havasu but is trying to get started here. I had a fire in the mobile in the wall; he is very nice and did a great job fixing it. Also thanks for my neighbors for help- ing with so much. Glenda Kae Hines year round resident
