The Crew at Salvation Army Sharon Chandler, Coordinator Lisa Bryan, Quartzsite BEST SMALL TOWN LIBRARY As a bibliophile and a full-time RVer my Kindle has become very dear to me. However, not every book is available thereon, much to my chagrin. I am blessed in that I can read a book over and over and get the same enjoyment each time. Not long ago, a book popped into my mind I hadn't thought of in many years. A compilation of sto- ries in the Saturday Evening Post, it was subsequently published as a stand alone book. It's the story of a tractor salesman, Alexander Botts, who sells Earthworm tractors. An Internet search turned up several copies, but living in a RV means little space for books. And then I thought, "The library!" Quartzsite has one of the best small town libraries I've seen in several years of full-time RVing. Asking Billie Fowler, the head Librarian, about the chances of them being able to locate a copy was encouraging. In two days, Billie called and said that one was available through the library network and did I want it? I would have to pay the return postage, which I thought was reasonable. A few days later, the book was in my hands, having come all the way across the country from Middle- bury, Vermont! Reading the book was such a de- light. It was just as I remembered it. Quartzsite is very lucky to have a library the caliber of this one, and someone as dedicated as Billie running the show. Thanks, Billie, and the crew at Quartzsite Library!
