Jane Swank, Quartzsite Art Guild
President 2014-2015. Under Jane's
direction the Art Guild has become
the largest in the area. Her mo-
tion to merge the Southwestern
Art Show into the Art Guild was
seconded and will be held this
weekend January 8th & 9th at the
Quartzsite Senior Center on Moon
Mountain Ave. from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Jane started painting in 1990 using
the wet on wet technique. Her trav-
eling schedule for work made it im-
possible to paint for two decades.
After retiring to Quartzsite in 2010,
Jane was able to take classes in
drawing/sketching, watercolor,
acrylic and alcohol ink. Jane shared
the alcohol ink technique with the
members at the Art Guild where
everyone had fun.
Jane won a Blue Ribbon for one
of her paintings at the Schatichoke
Fair in New York State as well as
ribbons for her cards. Her travels
between the East and West coast,
the changes of scenery, her knowl-
edge, and desire, continued to
grow. Come see Jane Swank and
her work at the Art Show this
weekend. She will be happy to
visit with all who attend.
