Her painting is used for the logo seen around town of the Quartzsite Art Guild's "Southwestern Round- up Art Show." Christine, in a new adventure, was commission to paint the book cover for Western Author Ron La- zenby which came out this year. German born artist Christine Schlageter is a self taught art- ist who spends her wintertime in Quartzsite AZ and resides the rest of the year in Western North Caro- lina. She has been interested in the art of painting since childhood and her chosen media is acrylics which she uses to create her wildlife and nature art. As a professional pho- tographer Christine often uses her own photographs for inspiration in her work. Several of her paintings have won awards at county and state fairs from NY to NC. As a member of the Desert Brushes Art Club as well as the Quartzsite Art Guild Christine lets the scenery surrounding her in the desert inspire her to create her paintings. Come see Christine at the Art Show held at the Senior Center, 40 Moon Mountain Rd. Quartzsite Arizona on January 8th & 9th 2016, 9a.m.-3p.m. Spot Light on Artist of the month By Jane Swank After the "renigade" group from Tew's RV Park returned to their respective homes in the northern states last April we decided to meet again in July for a Reunion. This was a reunion of fun, fear, mud, rain and lots of laughs in Ferrin, Utah. Mark and Terry Williams hosted the group and as trail mas- ter Mark had us ATVing through the San Rafael Swell. Sights were so beautiful to see that your eyes hurt at the end of the day. Pictographs, deep mines, canyons and very high peaks were just some of the sights that we enjoyed. The Renigades have returned to Quartzsite Now back in Quartzsite the mountains don't seem as daring as we truly became experienced ATV riders (and builders of roads in some cases). When you are hang- ing on the edge of a cliff and the road is washed out you appreciate being guided by an experienced trail guide. Thank you Mark for the experience of a lifetime. The Quartzsite Art Guild and South- western Art Show merge to make the largest Art Show in this area with a two day event held January 8-9, 2016 at the Quartzsite Senior Center on Moon Mountain Ave. The room will be packed with fi ne art and items for sale, large and small for our motor homers. Sher- iff Leonard (Butch) Klein will be on hand to arrest the door prize ticket holders each half hour. The win- ner will be escorted to the show jail to receive a bail out gift. $50.00 in Gold Coins and Original Oil Paint- ing by Oney Budge are the Raffl e drawing prizes. Door Prizes and lunch served for a small fee at the Quartzsite Senior Center -on Moon Mountain Ave. Quartzsite, Arizona. The show will include diverse fi ne art, author book signing, raffl e and door prizes. For information call Jane Swank at 727-460-1948 or Oney Budge at 928-927-8033. Art show planned for Jan. 8 & 9 Covenant Lutheran Church will have a Christmas Eve Service on Thursday, December 24 at 4 p.m. Refreshments will follow the ser- vice in the Fellowship Hall.
