We wish you all health, warmth, and friendship now and in the future. We have all come here to our quaint and quirky Quartzsite today either to be born, to live, to shop, and or to visit in all of our own ways. Wel- come, stay a while, we are happy you're here. There are oodles of events and things going on all over town this month, have fun. Lots more to come in January as we all know, and we'll be putting in up- dates as well. ~Enjoy the Season! The Quartzsite Community Thrift Store wishes a Merry Christmas and the very best for the New Year to our wonderful customers and volunteers. Because of you we were able to donate $3000 back to the com- munity this month. We donated to Quartzsite P.T.A., Quartzsite Metal Detecting Club, Senior Center, Isaiah 58 Project and Friends of Quartzsite Food Bank. The Quartzsite P.T.A. had a fund raising dinner in December. The proceeds help the elementary kids with their uniforms etc. The Quartzsite Metal Detecting Club have buried treasure hunts for the kids who metal detect to fi nd the treasure. This event is coming soon. They plan four events during the year. We can always use your donation's. Come shop with us. We are located behind Silly Al's. Happy Holidays ! There is a special meeting of the Town of Quartzsite planned for Tues- day, Dec. 22nd at 6pm for public input. Mayor Ed Foster wants to have a referendum on the May ballot for voters to decide if they want a primary property tax. Right now, Quartzsite does not receive any direct property tax revenue. Quartzsite property owners pay QES district, AWC district, Fire district taxes, but there is no tax "district" set up for the Town of Quartzsite specifi cally. At a Town Hall meeting last week, Foster said only 55 out of the 91 Arizona municipalities have a primary property tax. Fos- ter said Gov. Ducey will keep reducing amount of money that the state shares with municipalities and that towns will need to tighten their belts. To express your opinion, attend the meeting Dec. 22, 6pm at Town Hall. Property Tax coming to Quartzsite?
