Jim was a lifelong member of St. John's Church, where he was Warden and served on the Vestry for many decades. Jim's sense of humor was legendary, and his commitment to his friends and family was unbreakable. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Bill Evans, and his brother, Dunbar. He is survived by his loving wife Tamara Joyner Evans; his three sons Jamie Evans, Jordan Evans, and John Evans; his stepchildren Cortney Arnold and Brandon Puster; his sisters Anne Rowan Conners and Becky Romaine; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his grandson Charlie Arnold. ALUMNI NEWS Robert W. Banta '43 remembers his time as Questor of Psi of Sigma Chi from 1941-42 when the Chapter's address was 1 University Circle. James C. Mackay '54 enjoys watching and reveling in his children's careers, who live all over the United States from Boise, Idaho to Washington D.C., and overseas in England. John M. Sadler '54 is well known in the metallurgy field for his "isotope enrichment process," that penetrates and welds all the commercially popular aluminum at temperatures below that of their melting temperatures, penetrating the oxide surfaces as desired. He lives primarily in Ponte Vedra, Florida, but spends his winters in France and summers in Camden, Maine. Robert R. Sowder '58 served in the United States Army Counter Intelligence Corps as an agent during the Korean and Cold War eras. He then returned to the University of Virginia, graduating in June 1958. Moir '64 crosses paths from time to time with Paul Hammack '62, Kit Swenson '64, Kyle Lynn '68, Jerry Franklin '64, Chuck Veatch '64, and Bob Satterfield '64. "Skip" Morris '64 retired in 2007 after thirty-seven years in real estate development in Virginia and California. Reeside Jr. '77 participated in a '70s era golf weekend in New Market, Virginia, this past July. The event has been renamed in honor of Brother Jim Evans '77, who passed away earlier this year. Eight Brothers will also be going to Brazil during spring break 2016.
