Steward Hugh Campbell '17 Manassas, Va. Scholarship Chairman Ben Sanford '18 Houston, Texas Last spring we welcomed twenty new members into Psi Chapter. O ur Chapter has experienced a very successful Fall semester. With Brotherhood involvement at an all-time high, we have maintained our strong tradition of providing leadership to the entire University of Virginia community. In addition, our Brothers have had the chance to meet and connect with a large number of Alumni who visited the House over the Summer and Fall months. STRENGTHENING OUR BOND We have had great participation and excitement from the Brotherhood in all our Chapter events this past semester. Among our newest Psi Brothers inducted this month, Brotherhood Chairman James Schwartz '18 looks to continue to strengthen relationships between all member classes, one of the defining aspects of our Chapter. In addition, our participation at Grand Chapter was fantastic and allowed us to learn more about the National Fraternity and other Sigma Chi Chapters. LEADERS ON CAMPUS Psi Chapter has remained near the top of the Fraternity GPA rankings at U.Va., with a high number of Brothers in the School of Commerce and School of Engineering. We also hold many leadership positons in University-sponsored organizations such as OneGoal, 1 in 4, Pancakes for Parkinson's, Habitat for Humanity, Homers for Hoos, Seeds of Hope, and the Honor Board. PHILANTHROPIC PURSUITS In addition to involvement on the Grounds, the Brotherhood is extremely supportive of other Greek philanthropies, such as Alpha Phi's Thankful 5K. In terms of our own philanthropy, our new Derby Day Chairmen, Blake Anderson '17 and Jory Segal '16, recently started Brotherhood tours of the University of Virginia Children's Hospital, the recipient of our Derby Days donations. This opportunity to learn more about the impact of the hard work put into making the Derby Days event a success has been incredible, and has given us all even greater motivation to top the record $22,000 we raised last Spring. KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH ALUMNI Among the most exciting recent events at the Psi Chapter has been our chance to meet and get to know our Brothers from graduating years 2000, 2005, and 2010, who were in Charlottesville over the Summer for their University-sponsored reunions and took the opportunity to attend a "welcome home" reception at the Chapter House. In addition, we hosted an Alumni event at the Chapter House during U.Va.'s Young Alumni Reunion in October, which allowed us to connect with even more graduated Brothers. To all our Alumni Brothers, we are extremely grateful for your steadfast support. If you are ever in Charlottesville, please stop by the Chapter House and meet your newest Psi Brothers. The door is always open for you.
