Campaign Status At-A-Glance Total Raised as of November 24, 2015 $2,353,750 Number of Donors 44 Goal $4.5 million L ooking back on why he joined Gamma Chi Chapter, Ken Boyett '86 remembers that his parents were impressed by the recruitment chairman and supported his decision to join Greek life at OSU. Right away, Ken found genuine friendships and leadership opportunities within the chapter and on campus, acting as secretary, vice president, and president of the chapter, and internal vice president for IFC at OSU. Throughout his time as a Pike, many alumni made a positive impact on Ken, including John Williams '68, J. Lewie Sanderson '39, a founding member of Gamma Chi, and Dick Beshear '73, who had a heavy influence on Ken and his loyalty to the chapter. While preparing for life after college, Ken immediately learned the value of connections. Thanks to an introduction by John Williams, Ken began working for Cerner, which at the time was still a small company. Ken has now worked for Cerner for 24 years, and is a vice president and client results executive for the Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas. Ken is proud to be a Gamma Chi and feels today's chapter couldn't be better. "I was on the House Corporation board when it was really rough, when it was tough to make bills and recruit men. Today, it's incredibly strong financially and academically, and the alumni support has never been stronger." To ensure Gamma Chi continues to be a strong chapter, Ken has contributed to the Honoring Our Legacy, Securing Our Future campaign. "I donated because of my loyalty to keep our Gamma Chi Chapter as influential at OSU as possible. Also, I am motivated because of my own legacy. My son is 12 years old and I want him to consider OSU and ΠKA, so having a great fraternity house for him to be a part of would be an incredible opportunity." Ken hopes his brothers will join him in making a gift to the campaign. "Contribute whatever you can, and just be a part and help make a difference. Help set up Pike to be strong for the future." Ken lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his wife, Kristin, a Kappa Delta, and their daughter (14) and son (12). He enjoys participating in Ironman full triathlons, marathons, and family activities.
