The Lion's Roar Undergraduates Strengthen Campus Presence Recruitment Remains Top Priority M any brothers and dedicated alumni volunteered time and treasure to provide a substantial facelift to the chapter house. This was a great way to start the semester, and the momentum has carried us well into the fall. Two new Chinese marble lions now guard the front steps to the house. In addition to the new lions, the chapter made several landscape updates in the front yard, planting more than 30 new bushes, shrubs, and trees. After a successful fundraising campaign, we purchased a flagpole for the front yard that will be installed in the coming weeks. Beyond the physical improvements to the chapter house, Indiana Delta continues to grow its presence on campus. In early October, we co-sponsored an Oxfam Carnival, helping to raise money for Syrian refugees. We participated in Alpha Chi Omega's dodgeball tournament for domestic violence awareness, Pi Beta Phi's Culligan Ball tournament, Alpha Phi's Heart Throb Week, and Kappa Karinvale. Finally, we will be participating as a team in DePauw's Dance Marathon for Riley Children Hospital. We are ranked second among fraternities in dollars raised. With formal recruitment coming in January, the chapter refocused and is holding events for potential new members. After last year's success, our goal is to exceed that number without sacrificing quality. Any and all recommendations are always welcomed. Please send them to Recruitment Chairman Jack Macias '18 at jonathonmacias_2018@ depauw.edu. Overall, it has been a great semester. From the updated chapter house to Felix Amankwah '17 winning Old Gold Prince, we have established our presence on campus and improved our image in the Greencastle community. We strive to be an establishment of distinct gentlemen who challenge themselves to a higher intellectual and moral standard, a home for the humble, and a haven for the open mind. Fraternally, Joseph Haynes '16, Eminent Archon josephhaynes_2016@depauw.edu SAE letters for the new sign. They will be set on a concrete base with brick, stone, and lights. Brothers help plant shrubs at the chapter house. Make Your Mark at IndIana delta T hings are changing around Indiana Delta. The undergraduates have made a concerted effort to live by the mission and vision of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and the outside of the chapter house received several updates in recent months. The undergraduates are honored to wear their letters around campus, and we need your help to proudly display our letters in front of the chapter house. A brick wall for the sign will soon be installed, and an estimated $5,000 is needed to complete the project as envisioned. Please see the article on page 1 for more details on this important project. Alumni, now is the opportunity to step up and support Indiana Delta. Please show your brothers—past and present—how much Sigma Alpha Epsilon means to you by participating in this very public and permanent tribute to Indiana Delta.
