• Rockey White, Sig pledge of 1963 from Sioux Falls, entered Chapter Eternal in Reno, Nev., on August 25, at age 70 of complications from cancer. He is survived by two sons from a prior marriage, Josh and Jeremy White, both employed by UNO, wife, Stephanie, and their son, Ian, who is 12. A memorial tribute is planned in Reno sometime in March 2016. May Rock rest in peace. • Santa Fe, N.M., saw a number of visiting '60s Husker Sigs this fall. Denverite Richard Tegtmeier '68 attended the prestigious National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys meeting in October, managing to get a few rounds of golf in with colleagues at the renowned Las Campanas Golf Club. Bob Gillaspie '67 and UNL Gamma Phi wife, Garrie, were in town from San Antonio for the highly acclaimed annual Wine and Chile Festival. Dr. Tom Carson '64 was also spotted on his way to his Palm Springs home. Santa Fe is also home to Nebraska Sigs Bill Lundak '59, Fred Sweet '65, and Steve Davis '67. • It is encouraging to see quite positive press about Alpha Epsilon from the Omaha World Herald with acknowledgement from the administration for how far we've come. If you didn't see the World Herald article, visit http://goo.gl/53wbBG. Separately, Dean of Student Affairs Juan Franco sent a glowing letter to alumni congratulating the undergraduate Chapter on its notable progress over the past several years. • Out-of-state Brothers Richard Callahan '64 of Denver and Bob Seidell '65 of Milwaukee were in Lincoln on October 24 as guests of Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst for the football game against Northwestern. Ask them about the trip, but not the game! • Brother Bill Holloran '55, of Omaha, Neb., entered Chapter Eternal on May 29. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy; children, Bill Jr. and Kathy; grandsons, Jack, Tony, Nate, Ben, Max, and Noah; and great-grandson, Miles. • Brother Harry Tolly '60 dug into the archives and pulled out a 1952 issue of The Husker Sig. It provides a picture of a robust Alpha Epsilon 63 years ago. There are far too many anecdotes to mention, but it was nice to see that Sigma Chi was on top of its game back then, too. Sigma Chi had the President of the Student Body, the editor of the Daily Nebraskan, presidents of several honorary fraternities, two Innocents, the commanders of both Air Force and Navy ROTC programs, and many student athletes, including Husker tackle Hank "Moon" Mullen '58. And these guys won Ivy Day two years in a row with a version of "Jonah." The leadership roots run true and thick, brothers! • Steve Davis '67 is organizing the first Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter in Santa Fe with the help of fellow Sigs from New Mexico. Early interest is encouraging with a broad representation of area brothers who principally attended UNM and New Mexico State, with additional outside interest from Sig alumni from Ohio State, the University of Kansas, Wake Forest, the University of Texas, and Northwestern. Sig brothers participated as clean-up volunteers for the Lincoln Public Libraries following a large book sale at the Lancaster Community Center.
