He lives in St. Paul, Minn., and is the President at Madden Architects. E-mail: whmadden@gmail.com Ken Tessmer '48 says "it was when I gave Tolly, my wife, my Beta pin while she was preparing a pheasant dinner in the Beta house kitchen." They celebrated their 66th anniversary on September 24. Tolly was a Homecoming Queen in 1947, sponsored by Beta Pi. "Some of those guys are still around and are some of my best friends today." Bob lives in Wayzata, Minn., and has three children. Bill Engelhardt '54 writes that his favorite memory of his time in Beta Theta Pi was as a new member. The next day he reconciled with his ex, so I dated his blind date and later married her. We have been married for 58 years." Don and his wife, June, enjoy good health and spend their time traveling and sailing. Following dinner, we are lucky to have our featured speaker, Matt Hunt '94, a local business consultant/strategist who will share insights from his experiences with innovation, risk, and the role of failure. Hunt will share his perspective on how to think differently about those past experiences to learn and develop a better future. Since his days at the U of M, Matt helped businesses launch ventures on Wall Street and with Best Buy. The cost is $25 and the dress is business casual.
