We were lucky enough to have two founding members join us. Ron DeMuynck '55 and Hank Husby '55 became lifelong friends and made the trip to Pullman to share their experiences with us. We had a full day of events that started with a meet-and-greet at the chapter with the active members. The undergraduate brothers provided us with hamburgers for lunch and took several alumni on a scavenger hunt. Other attendees broke off and played golf at the award-winning Palouse Ridge Golf Club. The afternoon also included Texas hold'em poker at the chapter house along with other games. At 5p.m., we gathered at the Ensminger Pavilion near the WSU alumni center for our banquet and awards. Matt O'Callahan '08, alumni association president, welcomed us to the event and Kelly McKeirnan '00 gave an invocation before we enjoyed a country-style barbecue buffet dinner. Ben McEnderfer '13, chapter president, gave an update on the house and we started into some awards. The highlight of the awards was the presentation of the Doane Award. This is the highest honor received by an active member and goes to the graduating senior who best upholds the values of FarmHouse Fraternity. Matthew Segal '13 was surprised and honored to hear his named called, and was humbled by the supportive roar of his brothers. We conducted both a silent auction and a live auction called by Rob Matthews '00. Proceeds from the auction will be allocated toward making house improvements. The evening was filled with reminiscing and laughter. Several members told stories of their time in the house, which included the address by Hank Husby '55. He relayed that in 1955 he didn't know that he was starting something that would be this meaningful. He was simply hanging out with his friends and having a great time. We are proudly following in our founding brothers' footsteps by still doing this today. Thank you to those who attended this event; we are grateful to all brothers for building the FarmHouse brotherhood for the past 60 years. We look forward to creating an even stronger brotherhood in years to come. Alumni and undergraduate attendees celebrate the chapter's 60th Founders Day.
