The lion's roar Indiana Sigmas sport their letters and show their SAE pride. I t is a given that for the last few years the True Gentlemen of Sigma Alpha Epsilon have had the best physical house on Indiana State University's campus, but the time has come for us to also have the best Chapter at ISU. We are more than willing to rise to this challenge, and are already heading in that direction. Through participation in events on the national and local scales, we have been through the crucible and have been refined. I can proudly say that today our Chapter has an average 3.1 GPA. We have rallied our efforts to win the last two years of tandem races, and have our eyes set on trike in the fall. Additionally, this last year we raised $3,000 for the Terre Haute Humane Society, compared to only $1,000 from the previous year. Part of our donation included 400 pounds of dog and cat food to be distributed throughout the community. As men of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, we understand that today stands on the shoulders of yesterday, and that we are always on the rise. This spirit of ambition has prompted us to be hard at work over these last summer months to improve in every possible category. As you receive this, our recruitment is already underway. We fully anticipate recruiting a 30- to 40-member class. Over the next couple of years, it is our intent to build the Chapter to a consistent membership level of 60 to 80 members, which is ideal given our 40-bed home. We usually host our 5K Paint. Run. Fun. event in the spring, but we are working on a major philanthropic event for this fall semester as well—stay tuned for more on that! We continue to represent SAE in diverse areas on campus. Our brothers are involved in groups such as the soccer club, Young Americans for Liberty, the paranormal investigation club, the wrestling club, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, to name a few. Indiana Sigma, like many chapters, has been progressive in its implementation of the True Gentlemen Experience (TGE). Some of you may recall the idea of a "pledge class of one," as I do, being an initiate of the last pledge class. Now, we have new classes to ever initiate at Indiana Sigma. This team building mentality brought us together and gave us something to rally around as we grew in friendship. At Indiana Sigma, through the TGE, we are presenting a new concept that has empowered us to make many of the positive changes necessary on our climb to the top. We are now a Chapter of one. This has smoothed our Chapter operations, strengthened our brotherhood, and allowed us to build an effective executive board that keeps things running successfully. As noted, we stand on the shoulders of yesterday. We would not exist without your love for SAE. We invite you to join us in unity as we charge fearlessly into the future with a lion's passion and the wisdom of Minerva.
