In the morning hours of Tuesday, August 25, 2015, Quartzsite Police Department (QPD) was advised of an Attempt-To-Locate (ATL) of a suicidal subject in Quartzsite, Arizona. This information was pro- vided to the QPD from the La Paz County Sheriff's Offi ce dispatcher via a 911 caller. QPD Offi cer Weltha and Offi cer Tanakeyowma knew the subject of the ATL and drove to several locations the suicidal subject was known to be located. At approximately 1040 hours, QPD offi cers were dispatched to a mile west of Mile Post 114 on State Highway 95, north of Quartzsite. Friends and relatives had located the ATL suicidal subject with a single gunshot wound to the head in his vehicle. The Quartzsite Police Department, with the assistance of the La Paz County Sheriff's Offi ce, processed the scene with the deceased and a second scene at the residence. Once fi nished, QPD turned over the deceased subject to the Medial Examiners Offi ce and the Parker Funeral Home. QPD and family members made notifi cation to the next of kin. The QPD has sadly identifi ed the deceased as Paul Alan Norris, who is well known in the Town of Quartzsite.
