SIGMA ALPHA EPSILON AUBURN UNIVERSITY 3 W hile the Alabama Alpha Mu experience is certainly more than the bricks and mortar of the house, our home on West Magnolia Avenue undoubtedly plays a significant role as a living and learning center and stands as a proud monument to our outstanding history at Auburn University. Recently, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon alumni leadership has been assessing our future. e SAE dorms have not had any significant updates since their construction and it is our concern that their poor condition will negatively impact the Alabama Alpha Mu experience. rough our research and work, it is clear that a major investment to the dorms of our chapter house is required for SAE to remain a leader on campus and provide a productive, quality living environment that will continue to serve young college men through the century. A RECOGNIZED STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE Other Greek houses are not our only competition. Our plan will ensure that Alabama Alpha Mu competes with brand new on- campus student housing and apartment complexes in and around Auburn's campus that are providing high-quality amenities. New infrastructure, increased efficiency and living upgrades to the dorms will make the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house the gold standard of campus living for the next generation of our brothers. KEEPING OUR BROTHERS SAFE e need for a safe home where both brothers and their parents feel secure is critical for our continued success. To ensure the safety of our members and to meet current Auburn housing codes, the House Corporation knows that we would need to make a significant investment in upgrading our housing position. e existing infrastructure is worn, broken down, and does not reflect the quality of the rest of the property. It is our top priority to create a safe environment for our brothers living in the house. PRESERVING OUR LEGACY Sigma Alpha Epsilon's importance to Auburn University must not be understated. Membership in the Alabama Alpha Mu Chapter creates a support system and deeper connection to the campus by providing a sense of belonging and community throughout very formative years of our lives. With the steady increase of Greek life at Auburn each year, we can no longer adequately accommodate our members. Currently, space is limited to only 24 members in the dorms and it is creating a challenge to adequately foster our brotherhood standards for the 150 active members right now in Sigma Alpha Epsilon. In summary, we can no longer meet the needs of our members with regard to our residential dorms and sustain the future viability of our chapter. In order for SAE to remain a premier Old Row fraternity, we must create a home that will attract quality members for years to come. Our Need to Make a Significant Move
