TIGed worked with over 90 educators and administrators from the
Toronto District School Board. With three courses available to these
teachers as well, many teachers from the previous year's cohort also
mentored other teachers who were new in this cohort. An Innova on
Fair was held in May for students to exhibit their work, and for teachers
and students from across the school board to see each other's projects.
One standout project was a global cookbook that also saw some local
media a en on. As part of TIG's ongoing support for teachers, a new
page launched in May 2014 for teachers to find new projects of other
teachers around the world, and it already includes 58 projects. The
partnership between TIGed and the TDSB con nues in 2015 with a
course on fostering social innova on and social entrepreneurship
in the classroom.
Educators reported a 93% increase (32% to 62%) in their ability to
design student voice projects to meet curriculum goals and school
policies. There was a 70% increase in their ability to connect with other
teachers to boost the presence of environmental issues in their school
community. 96% of educators intend to transfer new knowledge and
skills to their daily prac ce right away, and 93% would recommend the
course to a colleague.
