TakingITGlobal for Educators (TIGed) embraced a year of working with schools to foster innova ve
learning experiences, cross-classroom collabora ons, and student-driven projects. TIGed worked
with a total of 150 educators in 2014. The year began with 60 scholarships for educators around
the world, including par cipants from Canada, US, Brazil, India, and Sri Lanka, to name a few.
These educators chose from three courses which ran on the topics of Global Ci zenship, Student
Voice, and Environmental Stewardship. Teachers created project-based learning experiences for
their classes, and included diverse ideas such as using telephone towers across Bangladesh to learn
geometry, and a school-wide project to start a Student Council at a school that previously had no
student representa on.
