Big Fracas 7 p.m. $5-$25 donation Oneonta Theatre 47 Chestnut St., Oneonta www.oneontatheare.com This will be the inaugual event for the production group, and the show will feature Diane Ducey and Measured Mile, The Moun- tebank Brothers, Little Slice and The Good Things and Hagalicious With Sage. Big Fracas is a group looking to raise awareness about natural gas drilling and hydraulic fracturing in the area. Donations gathered during the event will go towards spreading information on those topics. Fri. 3/2 Representatives will be on hand to discuss gas drilling with those in attendance. N.Y. Funk Exchange 10 p.m. $5 Autumn Cafe 244 Main St., Oneonta www.autumncafe.com See above. This week's edition will feature a Valentine's Day theme and be led by Oneonta poet An- nie Sauter. The event will begin with an open mic period, during which all those present may read their own work or that of others. Cooperstown Winter Fri. 2/10 Carnival 6:30 p.m. Downtown Cooperstown cooperstowncarnival.org This event, which continues all day Satur- day, Feb. 11, and Sunday, Feb. 12, will offer activities and food throughout the village. The theme for the carnival this year is "Car- nivale," and the weekend will bring a dessert lovers festival, "Bayou Blast" Chili Contest, the Fabulous Beekman Boys, dog show, music, fireworks, coloring contests and more. The tastings will cost a small fee, but many of the event are free. 'The Princess and the Frog' 7 p.m. Free Baseball Hall of Fame 25 Main St., Cooperstown (607) 547-1400 The 2009 animated Disney film is part of the Cabin Fever Film Series. The final movie in the series will be the 1995 film, "Cry, the Beloved Country," which stars James Earl Jones as a South African preacher. In its third year, the night will include a competition of beards and moustaches, as well as music by Micah Resney, The Spec- tacular Average Boys, Grassroots Rebels, Horseshoe Lounge Playboys and Krisco Fist. Funds raised will benefit those against hy- draulic fracturing in upstate New York. Iceography 10 a.m. Free, $35 Muller Plaza and Foothills Performing Arts Center Main Street and Market Street in Oneonta The event will start on Main Street, with free events such as amateur carving competitions, contests and ice-carving demonstrations. The festivities move to Foothills at 8 p.m. for the Polar Valentine's Day Party, which will feature head-to-head chainsaw duels, a polar fashion show, chocolate desserts and more. Heat Up The Night 5 to 8 p.m. $5-12 The Farmers' Museum 5775 State Highway 80, Cooperstown (607) 547-1400 In support of museum programming in local schools, the venue will host a night of music, food, games and contests. Auditions for 'Prisoner Tue. 2/14 of Second Avenue' 7 p.m. Oneonta Theatre 47 Chestnut St., Oneonta www.oneontatheatre.com The Neil Simon adult comedy set in New York City includes a cast of two men and three women ranging in age from 40s to 60s. The production will be staged April 6 and 7. Community Art Night 6 p.m. Free Wed. 2/15 Smithy Pioneer Gallery 55 Pioneer St., Cooperstown (607) 547-8671 The Smithy will host a different theme from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays in February.
