Lambda Chi Alpha - University of Illinois - Champaign, Illinois • Spring 2015 Chi Zetagram T hanks to all who have contributed financially to Our Next 100 Years: Building the Future for Chi Zeta campaign. We have raised $1,584,098 in signed pledges and have received over $478,000 in cash. But brothers, this won't get the job done. Our chapter house at 209 East Armory has been the focus of undergraduate life for Chi Zeta since 1927. Our house has been a home away from home 88 years. However, if we wish for Chi Zeta to continue its strong presence at Illinois, we must ensure that we are providing a safe, modern, and competitive facility. We would not be at this stage in the project without the hard work and dedication of so many alumni, family, and friends. We have made great progress with our capital campaign, but we need to increase our contributions to ensure our chapter is on a solid financial foundation. e total project cost is more than $5.5 million, which is on par with other fraternity rebuilds on our campus and around the country. To reduce our debt and make it more manageable for the active chapter, we need to meet and exceed our fundraising goal of $2.15 million. Although we are excelling in pledges and actual dollars received, we are lacking in participation. To date, only 119, or 9%, of our membership has made a commitment. e average participation among Greek campaigns is 25%. Other fraternities on campus are completing MORE THAN $1.58 MILLION RAISED Alumni Support ESSEntiAl now morE thAn EvEr fundraising projects, and their percent of participation is much higher than ours: • Phi Kappa Psi: $2,252,508 raised - 22% participation • Alpha Sigma Pi: $655,914 raised - 18% participation • Phi Kappa Sigma: $497,668 raised - 16% participation If you are among the 1,100 active alumni whose name is not yet on our donor list, we need you now! We need participation from every Chi Zeta member to reach our goal. Aer reviewing the plans and realizing the impact that the new house will have on the chapter, several alumni have said, "Everyone needs to give something because you really don't want to be le out of this!" Campaign Status At-a-Glance As of June 4, 2015 $2.15 Million Campaign Goal $1,584,098 Total Contributed 119 Total Contributors 1,231 Mailable Alumni I hope that you will take a moment, consider the impact of Chi Zeta on your life, and make a pledge now using the enclosed envelope. Every pledge is important and strengthens the brotherhood. In ZAX, Chris Gary '85 X1225 Development Committee Chairman chrisgary55@gmail.com / (708) 712-9200
