Monday - Friday, 10am – 2pm by Joanne Winer Last fall, Kym Scott from Tyson Wells asked the Business Chamber to come to his office for a meeting that he stated would be to discuss the idea for a benefit for the Busi- ness Chamber. The idea was to pro- duce a new version of the Quartz- siteopoly game, which had been done many years ago and was very popular and helped raise funds for the school PTA at the time. This new version that Kym Scott suggested would be just like the Monopoly game as well, but would have more updated features and the game pieces would be more like what is known in this area-- for example, there will be a camel game piece, a prospector, cactus, etc. All the spaces on the board have been sponsored by local busi- nesses and organizations, and the response has been so great that only one piece is left for sale--a space for $525. Kym Scott plans to send it in for production very soon, and it will be ready for sale and distribution by this fall before the busy winter season. The local sponsors include--Main St. Eatery, Crazy Jerry's Pizza, Reader's Oasis Books, Desert Messenger, Scenic Roads RV Park, Beer Belly's, Shady Lane RV Park, Town of Quartzsite, Main St. Trading Post, Mountain Quail Café, Main Event, Hardie's Beads and Jewelry, KB Tools, Cac- tus Curlers, La Paz Regional Hos- pital, VFW Post 769, RV Lifestyles, Tyson Wells, Sweet Darlene's Restaurant, Quartzsite Fire Dept., RV Pit Stop, Q-Check 76 Station, Silly Al's Pizza, QIA POWWOW, and Roadrunner Market. There will be 1000 games printed and they will be sold to local businesses and organi- zations who will in turn sell them to make money for themselves. Be sure to watch for news in the fall about where these games will be avail- able, and pick up your new game!!! The Business Chamber wishes to thank all the sponsors for partici- pating, and especially Kym Scott for his great idea and for his con- tinued support of our chamber. We can't wait to see it!!!
