FKQ CLONE GIVE, EXPECTING NOTHING THEREOF N ow that the renovations are complete, we wanted to share with everyone how the money was spent. The chart above shows different elements of the project with their approximate costs. We set out with a $750,000 estimate and ended up at $793,000. While we did have some contingency money set aside, the actual costs of unforeseen issues exceed that value—not a total surprise given the age of the facility. Despite the cost overrun, the building committee and corporate board decided to stick with the original plan of providing quality desks and closets and new paint and carpet throughout the house. We decided it was best to DIRTFT (dirt foot), or Do It Right The First Time, as the Nugatorious Nine learned during their spring '97 activation (Paul Peterson '01 and Eric Van Gorp '01 on the building committee happen to be members of the Nugatorious Nine). Obviously this makes it that much more important for us to exceed our fundraising goal. We are excited that we are right on the edge of crossing the $600,000 threshold for the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for Our Future campaign. As of this writing we are only $1,185 away from that goal and are hopeful that this mailing will help persuade a few generous alumni to help put us over the top. The campaign committee will be winding things down and will officially end the campaign on May 31, 2015. We encourage all alumni who have been considering participation in the campaign to fill out the enclosed pledge form. Our current participation rate is 30%, which we are very proud of. We would love to push that even higher and get as many names as possible on the plaque that will be proudly displayed on main floor ($1,000 minimum total pledge required to be listed on the plaque.) There is still tax deductibility for pledges of $10,000 or more, and don't forget the Stand in the Gap initiative (please write the name of the fallen brother you wish to honor on the pledge form). We hope you are having a great spring. Thanks again for your support.
