Your Contributions Help AdvAnCe tHe FrAternitY's GoAl oF developinG Future leAders Brothers and Friends, Thanks to your support in 2014, The Delta Chi Educational Foundation raised nearly $700,000 and granted more than a quarter-million dollars. Your donations helped fund the majority of the Fraternity's expenses for the "A"s' Academy and sent nine men to the North-American Interfraternity Conference's Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute. Additionally, the Foundation provided the Washburn Scholarship and numerous chapter scholarships, the Borelli Family Leadership awards, as well as assisted in the educational costs associated with houses for several of our chapters. It was great to see so many brothers at the Foundation Luncheon at the Convention in Scottsdale. Recognizing scholarship and grant recipients, along with those donors in attendance, was one of the highlights of my trip. Experiencing the personal connection and witnessing the good that our Foundation does reminds me of why we give back to Delta Chi. I speak for our board of directors and staff when I say that meeting those who receive the benefit of our Foundation, as well as those who support these initiatives, is truly a pleasure. Expect to see more of the Foundation. In addition to having representatives at each of this year's Regional Leadership Conferences, the Foundation will be holding an alumni reception in Chicago this July and an event coinciding with the Fraternity's 125th anniversary celebration this October. Check our website in the months to come for more information regarding the anniversary. Additionally, Foundation staff will be on the road more than ever in 2015, making numerous visits around the country. When we're in your area, you'll be sure to know. I encourage you to visit the Foundation's new website at www.dcef.com. You can also access it via the Fraternity's site (www.deltachi.org) by selecting Delta Chi Foundation on the "About" dropdown tab. This year is the last year of Brother Michels' "A"s' Academy Challenge. In each of the past two years, we raised more than $50,000, which Steve Michels, Marquette '87, agreed to match dollar for dollar. In this final year of the challenge, Brother Michels has agreed to match the first $70,000 raised. As most of you know, the "A"s' Academy is Delta Chi's premier leadership and personal development event. The four-day Academy brings together chapter leaders from across North America at no expense to the attendees or their chapters. Doing so costs the Fraternity more than $150,000 each year. Your tax-deductible gift helps offset this cost, allowing the Fraternity to allocate its dollars to areas that the IRS does not allow the Foundation to support. Please consider making a matching gift this year to the "A"s' Academy and help us defray 100% of the cost of next year's event. (See more information on how to give on the back page.) We also welcome unrestricted gifts, which will be applied where most needed. No gift is too small or too large. Thank you again for your continued support of Delta Chi. I look forward to seeing you at the 125th celebration this fall. Fraternally, James M. Marascio, Bryant '93 President, The Delta Chi Education Foundation Support Delta Chi.
