two new films," she says, and so far, more than 1,500 schools are

What inspired Technology Shabbats?
"We're living distractedly. We're doing too many things," she says,
and explains that after her father died, she realized we have only
a short time to be with the people we love. Her family has been
unplugging for 24 hours weekly for several years, and "It gets
more profound the longer we do it," she says.
What's your favorite app?
"Asana. It's got to-do lists...It helps me to separate things," she
says. "And I love Twitter. I'm on Twitter all the time."
What are some of your favorite things in Marin County?
"The Mill Valley Librar y. And I love going to the Sequoia and
Rafael." She also enjoys Molina, a new restaurant in Mill Valley,
paddle boarding in Sausalito and the Mill Valley film festival.
Do you have a personal motto to guide you?
"Have a vision and do it now," she says, and she shares a quote
from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe that has inspired her since she
was a child: "Whatever you think you can do or believe you can
do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
Begin it now." n
