She wanted to take her marketing experience and support local artists and creators, individuals that take an idea and make it happen. Her lines are a mix of sterling silver accessories, soaps, candles, natural mineral make up, handbags and more; created locally and made in the US. You can find The Artisans Reps products on line, community events and fundraisers and look for their next pop-up store. In addition and in support of all of the fabulous female entrepreneurs in Marin County she created a unique networking group, Marin Women at Work. Her goal is to bring like-minded women together to connect, network, share and most of all bring fun back to the workplace. Everyone is welcome to join us at our yearly Women at Work Networking Event Tues. May 5th 5-7pm Mill Valley Comm. Center $5.00 entrance fee w /100% of proceeds benefiting Center for Domestic Peace. It hasn't been easy being a woman in the business world, let alone in a male dominated industry! When I first bought the business from my father, in 1997, the entire staff quit. For some reason, they were ok working for me as the manager of a male owned business, but not working for a woman owner of the SAME business. The most important lesson I've learned is that women must be their authentic self. We don't need to act like a man in business, or worry that our ideas aren't as important, or defer to anyone else. We need to speak up and be sure our voices are heard. We must lead with respect. We need to make decisions based on our own instincts which results in acting with integrity. I am devoted to women and their business success. One way I support women is through the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce's Women of Industry Committee. We have a couple key networking opportunities for women: our 3 rd annual signature luncheon on November 18 th , 2015 and "Wine, Women, and Chocolate" on June 3 rd , 2015.
