W ith the dedication of Academics Chairman Clay Wagar '16 and our devoted members, I am proud to say that last fall our chapter had a GPA of 3.3. This puts Beta above the all-Greek average and second among all-IFC fraternities. Early this semester we initiated 12 new brothers to the fall 2014 pledge class and one transfer Beta from the University of North Dakota, Jackson Kranz '17. With the addition of these 13 brothers and the eight men currently pledging this spring, we have a commanding chapter size of 70 members. Our new vice president of recruitment, Christopher Page '17, has been working tirelessly to sign quality men, and we hope to carry this enthusiasm into the summer and fall recruitment seasons. This fall, we celebrated Beta Pi Chapter's 125th anniversary at the Millennium Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Good food, good drink, and good company created a Beta event that will be remembered for years to come. With well over 200 attendees, it was one of the largest Beta Pi gatherings to date. We also kicked off our capital campaign during the celebration and are now off to a strong start in raising the money needed to fully renovate our chapter house. Greek Week of Machy Days is fast approaching and we are paired with Alpha Chi Omega, FarmHouse, and Sigma Pi. Machy Days overlaps with Spring Jam, a university-wide weekend festival every spring on campus. This year there is a dance marathon competition between the pairings to see who can raise the most money for charity. Machy Days planning is already underway with events such as ballyhoo and the battle of the bands. We are confident in our pairing's abilities and plan on taking home the win! With an above-average GPA, a stellar recruitment program, and a chapter focused on brotherhood, I am confident when I say that our chapter is in an excellent position. By no means does this mean we are comfortable with being complacent. We will be constantly striving to improve ourselves in every aspect of fraternity life. I'd like to thank each and every alumnus for your continued support in our chapter and extend an invitation for you to stop by the house at any time, whether for chapter meeting or to rekindle your Beta spirit. Our doors are always open to you. In _kai_, Alex Skoglund '16 Chapter President alex.skoglund@gmail.com / (763) 647-9800 Chayden Bohm Wausau, Wis. Collin Bowolek South Elgin, Ill.
