From our dedicated undergraduates making commitments to our class leaders engaging in a grassroots effort to encourage broad-based support from their pledge classes, we are appreciative to each and every one of you who has helped us get this far. The next step is yours. We need the support of brothers from every era to help guarantee our active members have a safe and secure home at the University of Minnesota. To date, more than 121 individuals have made gifts and pledges. While this certainly is a great number by itself, we have to believe we can do much better given that we have more than 750 living alumni. We are asking everyone to make a pledge or contribution, no matter the size. Spreading your gift of $500, $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 over five years is much more manageable on an annual basis, yet still makes a significant difference in the overall project. You also have the option to make your gift online through our updated website (www.betapisocietymn.org). We understand that there is no end to the worthy causes deserving your attention. However, we ask you to give this project that is part of your legacy due consideration. If you have not pledged your support, please take a moment to search your memories for how Beta has impacted your life. Now is your opportunity to play a major role in the success of this project! "My undergraduate experience was one of the best times of my life," he said. He cherishes many memories from his time in the chapter such as road trips to other Beta chapters, fall dances, and Campus Carnival. Jim earned a bachelor of arts in political science with a minor in communications and today is the program director for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, serving multiple entities within the state of Arizona. He credits Beta with teaching him many necessary skills for a successful career such as networking, relationship management, political acumen, speaking, and perseverance. Jim has remained supportive and involved with the chapter over the years, sponsoring an undergraduate scholarship to attend the Men of Principle Institute to the General Fraternity in Oxford, Ohio. He encourages the men in the chapter to take advantage of leadership positions available in the chapter and on campus. "Always strive to take the high road," he said. In September, Jim had the opportunity to attend the 125th anniversary event and was impressed by the quality of the men in the chapter: "their politeness, stellar house GPA, and overall levels of community involvement." The capital campaign has given Jim the opportunity to give back to the organization that has remained a source Jim Keeler '89 Invests in the Future of Beta Pi (Continued on page 3) Please Join Us on Our New Website betathetapisocietymn.org New features include: • Capital campaign updates and ability to make secure, online payments • Updates from the chapter and Men of Principle initiative • Opportunity to provide addresses for brothers • Recruitment recommendation portal and other contact information for undergradu- ate and volunteer leaders We enjoy seeing the online presence of Beta Pi grow and hope you will take time to visit the new website.
