Anchored in Tradition, Building Our Future Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Delta Gamma Southern Methodist University MAKING OUR DREAMS A REALITY— THANKS TO YOU! Support Is Still Needed to Complete Our Plans As Envisioned T hank you to all of our generous donors who have helped us raise $2,307,004! Throughout this campaign, the support of our sisters has both excited and humbled us. We have been fascinated with the numbers, and they help tell the story of our generous alumnae and friends. See our campaign snapshot on page 2. LUDI MAI GRAND STAIRCASE Alpha Upsilon sisters from the '60s and '70s, as well as special friends of Ludi Mai Goode, were given the opportunity to support the campaign by donating toward the grand staircase, which will be dedicated in Mrs. Goode's memory. As of March 23, 111 donors have donated $46,270 in support of this special cause. Thank you to Sandy Smith Williams '63 for chairing this campaign and Jeannine Frazier Nieman '46 for her invaluable help! BRICK CAMPAIGN To date, more than 90 new bricks have been purchased for the new Delta Gamma house, in addition to more than 100 re-made from 1992. There is still an opportunity to have your name engraved on a brick on the patio of the new house. Bricks for Alpha Upsilon are $100 each. Please make your check payable to the Alpha Upsilon Housing Corporation and return your payment to P.O. Box 25424, Dallas, TX 75225. E-mail Dixie Sage Oneacre, Gamma Rho '64, at dgdixie@yahoo.com with questions. CHAIR CAMPAIGN With the beautiful, new Delta Gamma house underway, we invite you to take a seat in the new chapter room—literally! We are ordering 150 adorable, upholstered, and cushioned chairs that will be engraved with the donor's name and initiation year on a silver plaque. Designed with bright aqua fabric and a hot pink anchor, these chairs are on trend and comfortable for our collegians. The aluminum frame ensures they remain durable for many years. Please don't let your opportunity to personalize a chapter room chair sail away—this limited number will go fast! Order forms are enclosed. Thank you to Kelly Storer Hine '90 for leading this campaign. CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS Although the constant rain has made outdoor work difficult, construction at 3120 Daniel is progressing. Framing is completed and the roofers are working on days when weather permits. The dormer windows in the third-floor chapter room offer a wonderful view of the campus. The steel posts on the center front of the building show where the columns will eventually be located. During the framing stage, the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC components have been installed. Our audio visual, security and wireless contractors are installing their equipment. Our builder assures us that time lost due to weather will be made up as we look toward an August 2015 opening. Being directly across the street in the former Zeta Tau Alpha house has allowed the chapter to watch the daily progress. Forty women will be the first to occupy the new house in the fall. JOIN THIS HISTORIC EFFORT If you have not had the opportunity to make a donation, we would appreciate your support! Your name will be placed on the donor plaque at the new house if you make a donation of $2,500 or more. However, all gift levels are appreciated and needed! Remember, your investment in the future of Alpha Upsilon will ensure the success of our chapter and promote a legacy upon which to build an even greater sisterhood. We hope you will visit the new Alpha Upsilon house when it is completed in August 2015 and see the new beautiful home that was made possible through your generosity. There will be a donors-only house dedication in August. If you wish to be a part of this extraordinary event, NOW is the time to give! It has been a pleasure to serve as your campaign chairmen and to see the dedication and commitment of our alumnae to the future generations of Alpha Upsilon!
