Main St. Quartzsite Open Tues. thru Sat. 9-3 928-927-4223 Friends of Quartzsite Food Bank gets a good start with donations Quartzsite- AZ Volunteers came together March 19th for a Beef Extravaganza Dinner Fundraiser for the new non-profi t group, Friends of Quartzsite Food Bank . Organizers Richard Trusty and Lois Dupre were excited to see the large turnout to support the local food bank. Lyle and Maria Race of Lone Steer Cafe, smoked & served the meat for the delicious Philly Cheese Steaks, Quartzsite style; turnout was so great they almost ran out of beef. A huge thank you to Kym Scott for the use of his wonderful building at Tyson Wells Showgrounds and to all the wonderful volunteers who made this another successful event! Donations check were presented to Lois & Richard during the dinner: QIA donated $1000 (above left with Sandy Andreason, President); Southwestern Roundup Art Show donated $700 (above right with Norm Simpson); Rotary donated $418.92 (right with Violet Kiss & Ron Jones) The Quartzsite Quilters presented a check for $500 to the newly formed non profi t group, Friends of Quartzsite Food Bank (photo left) We are proud to support this group and the essential service they provide in the Quartzsite area.
