Tau Tales 4 F all semester at Tau was quite eventful! We started the year with a fantastic recruitment where we welcomed home 68 new members. Our bid day was themed "It's hard to be humble when you are queen of the jungle," and everyone had such an amazing time celebrating the new members. Fall Semester Started Strong In September, Tau placed third in our Homecoming competition. During October we had our annual Race for Ronald 5K; this year it was a costume run where participants were encouraged to dress up since it was close to Halloween. Sisterhood Events Bring Sisters Closer In November we initiated 60 new members into our sisterhood. Throughout the semester we had many sisterhood events; one of our most successful was a trip to Schaake's Pumpkin Patch. More than 60 women picked pumpkins, drank fresh apple cider, and bonded with their sisters. Also in November, Tau hosted a self-defense workshop. We invited another sorority on campus to join us and we had more than 300 people in attendance. Totally Rad Semi-Formal Our semi-formal was '80s prom-themed and women were dressed in awesome dresses, their hair was teased, and everyone had a blast. We played '80s movies, old arcade games, a photo booth and a DJ that was blasting '80s music the entire night. Academics on the Rise Tau's biggest accomplishment of the semester was our GPA improvement. We ended the semester with a 3.34 and are currently ranked sixth on campus. Since fall of 2013 we have increased our GPA by nearly two-tenths. We have high hopes for the remainder of our spring semester and cannot wait to see what is in store for Tau! If you're ever in the area, please stop by the house. Our door is always open!
