She then returned to Mississippi to complete a general practice residency at the University of Mis- sissippi Medical Center where she had the reward- ing experience of treating patients of the Mission of Mercy (MOM) and Ryan White Programs. Following residency, she moved to Washington, D.C. to practice dentistry and continue her alma mater's mission "to serve the underserved".
