The course was playing tough as the greens just didn't hold the ball well. We had 25 turn out for the day. Three brand new competitors played which was also great. The golfi ng was competi- tive as usual. First place was won by Dean Har- rington and Mac McLean who shot 18 under par score of 38. We had 3 teams tie for second place. The teams of Grant Berube & Skip Neuler, Debi Jen- sen & Gene Howard, and Jerry Taylor & John Lammers all fi red 40's. Fifth place was earned by Harvey Gibson and Russ Leininger with a score of 41. For our last tournament, we changed the format for closest to the pin. Players measured the distance their ball was from the fl ag. Closest to the pin on hole #1 was Russ Leininger at 9" from the fl ag. On hole #6, Jerry Taylor was 2" from the pin. On hole #8, Gary McGowan had a hole-in-one which was 14" from the pin. On hole #9, Larry Jensen's ball was 2" from the pin. Thanks to all the players who took part in the RA tournaments. We have all made some great friends who we look forward to seeing year after year. To celebrate this season's golf on both the Rainbow Acre Course and the Quartzsite Course, we will be having our Annual Good Guys/Gals VS Bad Guys/Gals on March 11 & 12. Rainbow Acres Tournament #6 results Quartzsite Improvement Assoc. (QIA), is spearheading, along with local organizations, Mark & Lynda Goldberg, and friends, to bring a new music program to local el- ementary students. Now is the time to ask your friends and relatives if they have any unused instruments; and also, to keep their eyes peeled for instru- ments at yard sales, etc. which can be donated to the program. Instruments can be collected all summer for use next fall. If you, or a friend, would like to help mentor the students, please let us know. When you obtain an instrument, please drop it off at the QIA. Let's make this work! If you have any questions, contact the QIA at 928-927-6325.
