Thru December Support our Troops Silent Auction planned for Dec. 13th By Joanne Winer The annual Silent Auction to support the troops is being held at the Commu- nity Center. You can fi nd the building by going north on Central (Hwy 95) and turning right at Best Auto (Chan- dler) and it is on the end of Chandler at the west entrance of the Town Park near the ballfi eld). Or, you can go up Plymouth Rd to Quail Trail (turn left at airplanes and go to next right and building is on corner). This great event will start at 1 p.m. and go to 4 p.m. There will be over a hundred items up for bid, and you may just fi nd that something special for your gift giving or for yourself!! It's a lot of fun walking around the tables and seeing what is offered and what people are bidding for it--you may get a really expensive item for pennies on the dollar. There will also be a special memorial board put up with picture of Joe Win- slow, one of the founding members of Operation Hero Comfort, and a great volunteer and friend to those who knew him. He recently passed away after suf- fering several cancerous brain tumors. He is very missed while doing packages every two weeks. This is the only fundraiser for Opera- tion Hero Comfort who currently have adopted fi ve units that are overseas in harm's way. These brave men and wom- en deserve to be supported and honored for their unselfi sh service, and these packages from home make their days a little brighter in these troubled times. A display of photos and letters, also sev- eral fl ags and certifi cates that will be there attest to how much they appreci- ate what they are given. There will also be a 50/50 raffl e and door prizes, and refreshments will be available. If you have items to donate for the raffl e, or to go into the boxes, please contact Anita Carlson at 763-639-9330. Come on out and have some fun and show your support to our troops and sign some Christmas cards that will be included in the next packages sent out. ' 315 E.
