Both the boys' and girls' basketball teams have been working hard to prepare for the season. The teams are practicing rigorously for improvement. The boys' coach, Mr. Johnson, says that the team will be intense, one of the fi t teams, and will have a good sea- son. Mr. Schuldt, the girls' coach, says that the team is young but energetic, and they've been working hard every practice. He also said that the girls are excited to play, and he plans to get back to the team's winning ways. The fi rst game was November 25th against Mayer at Mayer; the fi rst home game is December 2nd against Bagdad. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are working to raise money; the sopho- more class is currently selling beanies for $15 and the senior class will also be holding a movie night at the high school on the 4th. Any contributions are greatly appreciated. The school's science club has excit- ing things planned, with a virtual fi eld trip to learn about mining in Arizona. Michael Best participated in the virtual fi eld trip to learn about mining in Arizona. He says he really enjoyed the watching how mining is in Arizona. He was very excited about science club and what they are going to be do- ing this year. Interested students are beginning to prepare for the Science Olympiad competition in the spring. The Interact Club, a club in its fi rst year at Salome High School, will be sending out shoe boxes full of neces- sities and gifts for children across the world this holiday season. FBLA, also known as, Future Business Leaders of America, will start selling coffee and hot chocolate in the mornings to stu- dents and teachers in December. The fi rst quarter honor roll and perfect attendance assembly was on Novem- ber 17th, where students were awarded with ice cream and a certifi cate of their achievement.
