LCA Lambda lamp AlphA-DeltA ZetA At Missouri university of science AnD technology | fAll 2014 B rothers, we've been offered a unique challenge that we must take advantage of. Thanks to the generosity of a group of anonymous donors, any pledge or gift to the Honoring Our Past, Securing Our Future: The Campaign for Alpha-Delta Zeta made between now and April 30, 2015, will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $450,000. This means that your gift or pledge will be doubled in value and go twice as far in helping us secure the future of Lambda Chi at MS&T. If you have already given, your pledge increase will also be matched! Don't miss your chance to capitalize on this initiative. If you've been contemplating a gift to the campaign, the time is now! This is a one-time opportunity to have your gift matched 100%. If we are successful in our endeavor, the campaign stands to gain $900,000. However, if we do not meet the full $450,000 challenge, we may lose any money that was not matched. Don't let us leave money on the table! To complete this plan as envisioned, it's imperative that we secure as many gifts as possible. To date, 112 alumni and friends have made donations, pledges, and memorial gifts of $1,749,505 toward the new Chapter House. This is a major effort with an average of $15,620 per donation, but we still need many, many more alumni to reach our $2.8 million goal. Other fraternities at Rolla who have completed their recent fundraising campaigns for new houses have each averaged almost 300 individual donations from alumni. Surely ADZ, which has been such an outstanding Chapter at Rolla for so many years, has the wherewithal within the individual alumni members to equal or exceed 300 or more donors like other fraternities have done. The University and the Fraternity provided us with invaluable experiences and resources, helping us each develop into the men we are today. Now is our chance to pay it forward. As the year-end approaches, we remind alumni that the ADZ Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax- deductible foundation where gifts of $2,500 or more are deductible as a charity donation. Coupled with a five-year pledge, alumni can donate $500 per year for five years and qualify for tax-deductibility. That breaks down to just $42 per month—much less than most of us probably spend on non-essential items. Through the matching gift challenge, this $2,500 gift turns into $5,000 for the campaign. Larger donations to the ADZ Foundation also qualify for tax deductions, so if you are able to give more, please do so we can take advantage of this opportunity. Make your pledge/donation before December 31, 2014, to qualify for deductions for fiscal year 2014. Six fraternities at Rolla have already found that their alumni were very supportive in donating enough funds to complete their new building projects. There is enough wealth in the ADZ alumni to complete our building project; we need to hear from those who have not yet donated. If you have donated less than $5,000 and can make an additional donation to reach $5,000 or more, please do. Forty of our alumni brothers have each donated more than $5,000; in many cases $15,000, $25,000, $30,000, $50,000, $100,000, $125,000 and more! As a reminder, increased pledges also qualify for the matching gift challenge, and will be doubled in value. Won't you do your share in this effort to return our beloved Chapter House to respectability on the Rolla campus, ensuring the success of the Chapter for future generations?
