T his fall Phi Chapter was honored to celebrate our 100th year on the University of Kansas campus. As more than 350 women gathered to celebrate our many years of sisterhood, I hope you too were able to reflect on your memories of Phi Chapter and how it positively impacted your life. For a century now, Phi Chapter has been a leader in the Greek community at the University of Kansas, with a reputation of well-rounded and intelligent women, involved campus leaders, loyal friendships, and fun. This comes from each generation passing down those qualities and caring about the future of our chapter. Alpha Chi's excellence requires intention and dedication, much like a beautiful garden requires constant sun, water, and weeding. Most of us would say that the friendships made decades ago are still some of our most treasured. Those friendships are even richer today, deepened by celebrations of marriages, children, careers, and philanthropy, as well as sorrow in challenging times. In today's busy world, we appreciate and value the joy of having friends who have been with us through many seasons of life, and we wish the same for women who come after us. As we embark on the journey to renovate our home, I want to send a big thank-you to all of the sisters who have provided early financial gifts to bring these plans to reality. To date, 38 sisters have looked into their hearts, reached into their wallets, and donated $195,972 to the campaign. Behind each gift: a memory, a reason, and a purpose for contributing. Some give back to ensure the future success of Alpha Chi and others to commemorate the lifelong friendships formed there. Whether you're from the pledge class of 1954 or 2014, we need your help to raise the remaining $304,028. I respectfully ask you to consider making a gift or pledge today by using the enclosed pledge form or visiting http:// axophi.kintera.org/donate. Every gift to our campaign is significant and greatly appreciated. You may give a gift in honor of or in memory of a family member, pledge sister, or friend. Our goal is to have every sister give what she can, as all gifts are important to the success of this campaign. In appreciation, all donors will be recognized in campaign publications. Donors who contribute $2,500 or more to the campaign will have their name on a prominently displayed plaque in the chapter house. We are all part of a very special bond, and on behalf of all Phi women— past, present, and future—I want to thank you for your interest in, support of, and remembrance of Alpha Chi Omega and the Phi Chapter! We'll always remember YOU!
