Lundberg '60, of East Longmeadow, passed away June 20 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family at age 75. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire in 1960, then graduated from the University of Wisconsin Bank Administration Institute, where he also served as Massachusetts state director, and attended Western New England Colleges MBA program. As a student, he was enrolled in the ROTC program where he later served his country with the U.S. Army Reserves and began a rewarding career in the banking industry where he served as the vice president and treasurer at the former Valley Bank & Trust Company and at Bank of Western Mass. He was employed as the director of finance with The Great Oak Insurance Company and completed his career with Chicopee Electric Light Company, retiring in 1998. Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed family vacations on the shore, attending sporting events, musical performances, gourmet clubs, and family gatherings. Our most treasured memories include Jim's smile, generosity, patriotism, and his ability to light up a room. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and brother-in-law. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Valerie (Butler) Lundberg, and leaves four loving children: Gregg (Marlene), of Kula, Hawaii; Kristin (Kevin), of Windham, N.H.; Jill, of East Longmeadow; and Erin (Bernard), of Windsor, Conn.; and seven cherished grandchildren: Joshua, Brittney, Haylee, Kaitlin, Thomas, Brendan and Allison. Support New Hampshire Beta T he ongoing maintenance of our chapter house results in a never-ending need for funds to support improvement and repair projects. The Chapter would like to install gas fireplaces with closed fronts in both the dining and great rooms to keep the areas warmer during the winter months, as well to enhance aesthetics. This project requires a makeover of the existing mantles as well. The anticipated cost is $15,000. We are asking alumni to please help us fund this much-needed project by submitting a tax-deductible gift to the SAE Foundation today. If only 30 brothers would send a gift of $500 or more, we could achieve this goal; however, any amount you can contribute is deeply appreciated. Please make checks out to the SAE Foundation, memo: NHBE CAF, and mail them to Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Hew Hampshire Beta Housing LLC, 1856 Sheridan Rd., Evanston, IL 60201- 3837, or make your gift online at https://www.sae.net/donate. Your support makes a difference in the lives our active brothers; submit your gift today!
