Future Is Bright for New Hampshire Beta T he New Hampshire Beta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon concluded another successful spring semester and the future is looking bright as the fall 2014 semester is in full swing. The chapter remains one of the most involved Greek chapters on campus and leads by example with our dedication to the core values of SAE. NH BETA LEADERS A young, though determined and capable, executive board led by River Whitten '16 have displayed strong leadership and set lofty goals for the chapter this fall. Members are leaders of campus organizations, academic scholars, ROTC cadets, and part of several successful intramural athletic teams. The chapter has placed an emphasis on outstanding academic achievement and aims to be well above the all-men's average. We are at the forefront of Greek involvement, whether it be co-sponsoring events with sororities, competing against other fraternities, or being involved with numerous non-Greek groups such as Relay for Life. ALUMNI ADVISORY BOARD Our alumni advisory board continues to grow, invigorated by newly graduated Shaun McKernan '14 and Rishab Khanna '14. Their recent success within the chapter provides youthful exuberance and a connection to the current membership. It is bittersweet news to lose the wisdom and participation of Steve Philbrick '75. Steve has been a tremendous asset to the alumni association, working closely with the chapter and our fellow advisors. We wish Steve the best of luck with his move to Hawaii. The chapter's first recruitment event on September 22 drew over 80 interested men! And I am happy to announce that we just initiated 23 young men into the NHBE Chapter and we continue to look forward to yet another great semester in Durham.
