Senior Center membership change Bingo starts this week Quartzsite, AZ - Doris and Chaunce Hamilton, owners of Quartzsite's Rice Ranch, would like to notify the public that "the Monster Truck Thrill Show scheduled for Nov. 15th & 16th, has been cancelled at Rice Ranch." Monster Truck show not happening at Rice Ranch All plans four our fi rst Fall Festival and Community Roundup to be held at Cov- enant Lutheran Church on November 15, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM is coming together just like a rodeo. With its western theme and outfi ts we will have our Chuckwagon area fi lled with yummy cinnamon rolls and free cof- fee. Items for sale will be Sloppy Joes, Peach Cobbler and Ice Cream put on by several other organizations and to help them with their fund raisers. Free pop- corn for big and little kids. Vendors, artists and crafters are sign- ing up for spaces to display and sell their lovely "carpet bag" creations. Spaces still available with a November 1st deadline. Please note sign up form in this edition of the paper. $20 per table space; you provide your own table and decorate. Raffl e tickets will be sold for some beautiful items. Local businesses and organizations have provided lovely jewelry, blanket booties and hats, for newborn baby, fl oral and candle ar- rangements, picnic basket with all the trimmings, and so very much more. Our church will be fi lled with music and entertainment including a 10 AM show- ing of "Toy Story" for young and old. Our Buckaroo Rodeo area will be fi lled with games and prizes for all kids. Town Manager will take his turn in the dunk tank and hopefully a few of our other town offi cials. There will be a hula hoop contest, fi shing, ring toss, bean bag toss, outdoor bowling and horseshoes, to mention some of the games. At 3:00 PM we will give out awards for that best dressed little cowboy and cowgirl. Kids under 12 are eligible. Also there will be face painting for young and old. Covenant Lutheran's Thrivent repre- sentative, Maggie Ross put in for a grant quite some time ago. The Lutheran Thrivent Organization helps Christians with their fi nancial plans and needs. It also has grants available to help churches pass it forward in their com- munities. This year we will be receiv- ing a $700.00 grant to help fund this event and to include with our fundrais- ing total. All funds to be split between the Quartzsite Food Bank and Isaiah 58. Ron Phillips, our regional Thrivent Rep. will be joining us with free piggy banks and we have lots of free t-shirts. Booth space applications should be sent to Maggie Ross, P.O.
