The completion of the ATW house at 1310 College solidifies our presence on campus and will bring even more growth in the years to come. Fall Recruitment Results in 52 Incredible New Members Membership is the largest it has been since the recharter of Delta Kappa, reaching over 170 members with the newly signed pledge class. The 52-man fall pledge class includes five lega- cies, three presidents community scholars, eight presidents leadership class members, an OU soc- cer player, a member of the OU fishing team, an OU lacrosse player, six Eagle Scouts, a member of the Sooner Freshman Council, and three Na- tional Merit scholars, as well as many other dis- tinguished members. Congress Brings National Recognition At ATW's National Congress this year, Delta Kappa took home five awards, including our fourth True Merit bowl in five years. Other awards received were Recruitment Excellence, Academic Excellence, Upper Alpha, and the Na- tional Excellence award. In addition to national awards ATW was awarded with OU's Presidents Trophy for campus involvement this past spring. The university also recognized ATW for excel- lence in all four categories of president's trophy: academics, campus involvement, volunteerism and multiculturalism. ATW was one of only four chapters out of 19 fraternities to achieve this dis- tinction. These awards are now on display in the trophy case at the ATW house. Campus Involvement Soars This fall the members of Delta Kappa also have the honor to be paired with the women of Pi Beta Phi for University Sing and the women of Gamma Phi Beta for Homecoming. Both cam- pus competitions are underway and we are mak- ing great progress building a lasting relationship with both of these great sororities. In the spring we will be paired with Kappa Alpha Theta for Sooner Scandals, another great sorority we paired with for OU's Big Event last year. Join Us in Our Philanthropic Efforts This fall Delta Kappa will host our second an- nual 5k and Halloween carnival benefitting the community after-school program of Norman. The 5k will be held on Sunday, November 2. We encourage all alumni to run in our event, bring your kids to the carnival, or sponsor this event. For more information about our signature phil- anthropic event, please visit our website at http:// www.ouato.org. You can also contact Signature Event Chairman Adam Wagner '13 at a_wag- ner@ou.edu or (405) 431-7211. We are looking forward to building upon one of the best years for Delta Kappa and leaving our mark on the University of Oklahoma campus. I am always available if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
