The Indiana Gram Annual Alumni Leadership Update 2013-14 At-a-Glance This was a very exciting year for Indiana Gamma. It was the first year for our undergraduates to live in the new house, another top five finish for fraternity GPA, the second year in a row the chapter was recognized at Indiana University's Greek Awards ceremony—this year with the Values Integration Excellence Award, over 20 hours per person in community service including supporting the Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis. With continued improvement in intramurals, 2014-15 promises to be even better. Around the House Tom Williamson '72 is the chapter advisor again this year. We are extremely fortunate to have Tom in this role. When you stop by the house please introduce yourself to our new House Director, Wendy Watson. In a very short period of time Wendy has become an amazing addition to our team; I want to thank F&H for their role in placing her. True Gentleman Enhances Recruitment As most of you are aware, SAE Fraternity has established the True Gentleman Experience. The most significant change for program is the elimination of pledgeship. We need your help in identifying and directing True Gentleman to Recruitment Chairman Raul Lopez '16 at raullope@indiana.edu or (812) 603- 7331 or to our Eminent Archon Nick Martell '16 at nmmartel@umail.iu.edu or (219) 781-9028. In Memory of Brother Sajaad Syed Indiana Gamma brother Sajaad Syed '15 was a passenger in a car that was involved in a car accident in July. Sajaad lost his life and entered Chapter Eternal. Sajaad's long-time high school friend, who was also a passenger in the car, also perished. Almost 50 undergraduates attended the funeral service in Chicago. Please keep Sajaad's family and our Gamma brothers in your thoughts and prayers. As an SAE, we are our brother's keeper—please look out for one another. Thank You, Dedicated Alumni At the annual Golf Outing we honored the following with the Order of the Lion for their significant contributions to the Fraternity: David Gray '72, Doug Cassman '72, Jeff Hoffman '73, and Mike Wells '72. David, Doug, Jeff, and Mike were tireless in their efforts to help get the chapter established back on campus and raise funds for the new house. Please take a moment to thank them! I also want to thank the members of the Housing Corporation and Alumni Association who invest the time on our behalf to insure the organization continues to grow and make a difference: Bob Bryan '63, Brad Weiss '95, Brandon Bennett '10, Chad Ruston '94, Dave Barrick '79, Dave Keller '80, Dennis McCall '84, Jason Kennedy '92, Jim Fissinger '83, Ryan Cassman '97, Tom Williamson '72, Dan Wunderlin '82, David Gray '72, Doug Cassman '72, Jeff Hoffman '73, and Mike Wells '72. The 25th anniversary event hosted 82 golfers who enjoyed a spectacular afternoon of golf and a world class dining experience that day. The proceeds of the outing are used to sponsor various alumni functions and chapter activities throughout the year, including the four active chapter members who attended SAE leadership school this summer. The 2015 Golf Outing is scheduled for June 8, so mark your calendars! Fraternally, David B. Keller '80 dbkeller@hfflp.com (317) 696-4540
