T
he men of Alpha-Omicron Zeta had an incredible spring semester. We achieved our goal of
ranking in the top five fraternities at Indiana University with an outstanding 3.3 GPA, as well
as initiated 19 associate members, bringing our total membership to 140. In the beginning
of the spring semester, Alpha-Omicron opened its doors to 80 other Lambda Chis around the
region while we hosted the 2014 Midwest Conclave.
The conclave was a great success and showcased all
of the great progress Alpha-Omicron has made in the
past few years.
In late spring we witnessed a tremendous effort from
our Lambda Chi cycling team to come back from last
place due to two straight mechanical errors on the first
lap—and finished 14th out of 33 teams at the annual
men's Little 500 race. Over the summer, we transformed
our formal lounge, on the west side of the house, into
a conference room and study lounge while turning the
library into a new billiards lounge. None of this could
have been possible without the generous donations from
countless alumni, as well as the leadership from the
president of the House Corporation, Tony Drake '84.
This fall we are setting our goals even higher. We will
strive to achieve the top G.P.A. at Indiana University,
and we are setting a goal to raise $5,000 at the
Watermelon Bust in early September. Please, if you are
traveling through Bloomington area, contact me and
come by the Chapter House to see all of our progress to
becoming the best chapter at Indiana University.
