34 Youth Movements http://youthmovements.org Youth Movements has been collaborating with the UN-Habitat Urban Youth Fund to support innovative youth-led projects in the developing world. This project involves three phases: First, we worked to map historical projects supported by the Urban Youth Fund on a customized portal launched on World Habitat Day. The second phase of this project kicked off with the launch of the portal, switching focus to support the 2013 Urban Youth Fund grantees through customized upgrades and translations of the TakingITGlobal Initiatives platform. This provides an online hub for this year's grantees to detail the efforts of their projects online, integrating automatic feeds from Facebook and Twitter to capture project updates on a more frequent basis. We also translated the Initiatives platform into French and Spanish and created a custom initiatives handbook to guide grantees on making effective use of the platform. Early in 2014, we will be releasing a multilingual mobile application to collect status updates from the these youth-led projects in real time. We will also be releasing a suite of support resources, a crowd- NEXUS YOUTH SUMMIT Nexus is a global movement of over 1,000 young people from over 70 countries working to increase and improve philanthropy and impact investing by bridging communities of wealth and social entrepreneurship. To put the hope and promise of young people on the world stage, leaders are coming together in New York City this summer, from July 26th to 29th, for The Nexus: Global Youth Summit on Innovative Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship. It will be hosted by the Young Donor Network (a project of Search for Common Ground) as a follow up to the February 2011 Meeting on Young Philanthropy held at the United Nations. The event is convened in partnership with the UN Program on Youth and in support of the International Year of Youth. ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS TakingITGlobal partnered with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) to collaboratively develop and customize TIG's Initiatives platform for EWB's network of chapters. New features were added, such as discussion boards and mailing lists, while existing member management and file sharing tools were improved, to enhance the connectivity between their members and distributed project teams. The brand new myEWB 2.0 launched in November 2013 and is currently being utilized by 65,000 EWB members across Canada and around the world. funding widget and an administrative dashboard aggregating status updates from grantees, connecting UN-Habitat's staff more directly with the results and challenges experienced by the youth who are implementing supported projects. Future development may see this impact tracking tool expanded into additional contexts, further translation into languages beyond French, English and Spanish, and the application of this real time tracking system to support youth efforts towards achieving the MDGs and the Post 2015 development goals.
