33 Through our special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Development Council (ECOSOC) and the Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, GYAN supported 31 representatives to attend UN processes and events. GYAN was awarded ten accreditation spots for the annual COP climate change negotiations held in Poland in 2013. Youth Delegates shared their perspectives of the negotiations in partnership with TheVerb.org (http://www.theverb.org). Two Global Encounters video conferences were also held live from COP19, connecting accredited youth attending the summit with over 1,000 students from around the world. Global Youth Action Network http://gyan.tigweb.org The Global Youth Action Network (GYAN) works to facilitate youth participation and intergenerational partnership in global decision-making, supporting collaboration among diverse youth organisations and providing tools, resources, and recognition for positive youth action. As part of GYAN's participation in the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY), GYAN nominated six youth representatives as Focal Points for the 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns (10YFP). GYAN staff also participated in the 2013 Youth Blast, held on the 20th of September, leading workshops based on digital engagement, storytelling and technology for social change.
