TakingITGlobal staff members Jennifer Corriero and Ryan MacLean participated in the summit and highlighed to potential fellows the opportunity to benefit from the Sprout E-Course and cultivate relationships with young professional along with many educational decision-makers attending the event. Jennifer participated in a panel discussion at the end of the Summit, which was broadcast with WGSI media partner TVO on The Agenda with Steve Paikin, where she described TIG's work in developing Sprout, TIGed PD, and the Future Friendly Schools program. Despite the challenges facing Youth for Change (YFC) program due to the instability in the Arab region, the program was able to distribute mini-grants to phase 3 winners in most Arab countries. 28 projects were implemented during this year, tackling issues ranging from environment, education, unemployment, health, and capacity building. In addition, Youth for Change was part of the global campaign "We see things differently" which was launched by TakingITGlobal on World Environment Day, June 5th. Two YFC winners from Tunisia and Egypt presented their environmental projects to an international audience of youth during the webinar organized for the campaign. The program also promoted the online Global Gallery and Panorama contest as part of the campaign among youth in the Arab world. The Waterloo Global Science Initiative's Equinox Summit promotes dialogue around complex global issues to catalyze the long-range thinking necessary to advance ideas, opportunities and strategies for a secure and sustainable future.
