11 EDUCATIONAL GAMES http://www.tigweb.org/games Over the last decade, TakingITGlobal has created nearly a dozen educational games as part of thematic classrooms. Developed in partnership with York University, the University of Toronto, and Dalhousie University, the games help students engage with complex issues such as mental health, food security, democracy, and poverty. With the growth in popularity of educational gaming, more than 300,000 users visit the section each year, so we worked to re-launch a dedicated section to act as a repository for all of our educational games on one page. Not wanting to limit our audience to just TIG- created games, we also researched dozens of games created by other non-profits on important issues, which the page now highlights, searchable by both global issue and school subject focus. PETITIONS http://petitions.tigweb.org Our popular petitions section has been upgraded to support photo and video uploading, allowing for enhanced multimedia capabilities to reach with potential signatories. Not limiting our impact to our own platform, we also produced a petitions toolkit that highlights strategies on creating effective petitions online. After re-launching the platform, we experienced a influx of new content, with more than 200 petitions posted in 2013. Featured campaigns included "We See Things Differently", which showcased the vision and actions that young people are taking to improve their world. MEMBER OF THE WEEK Our Member of the week contest launched in July asked our members to share their success stories with our network for a chance to win a TIG prize pack, a digital camera and a one-on-one coaching session with TIG Staff. This call for submissions boosted submissions by more than 3,000%. A short list of ten TIG member stories were featured on our main home page over the next ten weeks, helping to raise the profile of the impact of our members activities around the world.
