Visiting areas of this country with bright green grass and enormously tall trees was such a delight for my senses. I felt like a sponge, soaking it all in for the following year. My brother said I was "green deprived." My response was "I'm brown plenty." My pilgrimage north always re- charges my batteries and reminds me there is more to life than sqabbles and complaints. The teachings we received remind us to take our challenges and deal with it head on with respect to each person involved. Certain cer- emonies I attended are fi lled with lots of protocols, but it all comes down to respect, respect, respect. My heart was fi lled with so many blessings to be sur- rounded by hundreds of people who respect each other, for the mutual and greater good of the whole community. Sure, there are always those who may not "like" someone, but that really doesn't matter when focusing on the larger picture. When people of like minds come together with a goal greater than them- selves, beautiful things happen. Once again, we were reminded to "bring the best of yourself." I know the visiting dignitaries from South Dakota were amazed at how smooth things ran, and how the people came together to get things accomplished in a good way. We saw this recently in town when folks suffered losses from the strong monsoons. Strangers went to help clean up the mess and drop off blankets, etc. That's what I love about Quartzsite! You could Be Anywhere, Doing Anything, and You are Here Doing This, Thank You" ~ Robert Greygrass (thank you from me too!) This world of ours... must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect. ~Dwight D. Eisenhower Just Rambling... Provided by Elmer London, Quartzsite and Desert Messenger I never met a tree on a golf course that I couldn't hit. I never met a water hazard, where I could keep my ball dry. I never met a sand trap (they're called bunkers now) that I could hit a ball out of. Now I watch golf on TV. Across from McDonald's • Quartzsite NEED CASH? Jim Buys GOLD!
