They need to do fundraisers to keep their programs going. Bingo is one of their biggest fundraisers, and they are in desperate need for volunteers to help with bingo on Monday nights. If you could help one Monday night a month that would be a great help. The doors for bingo open at 5:30pm for early bingo begins @ 5:45pm – 7:00pm & regular bingo begins at 7:00pm – 9:30pm They need the following: Volunteers for the floor (to sell extra cards if anyone wants one), I need check runners, kitchen help and early bingo help. If you would be interested in volunteering, please contact Mary Hamrick @ (704)484-5493. Dependable, caring, friendly, and her laugh just makes you want to giggle too are all words that describe Glenda Loftis. She volunteers her time and talents in many areas of the Senior Center. Glenda volunteers at the front desk on Mondays and many other days when needed such as Health Fairs, in the Service Department and for special events just to name a few. She is always willing to help out. Glenda, the Neal Senior Center can't thank you enough for all you do. You help make the Senior Center a great place to be! Items Needed For COA Food Pantry People in our community would be surprised at the number of families our food pantry serves. As the cost of living increase, their check doesn't increase at the same rate so they don't always have resources to feed their fami- lies adequately. That is why the food pantry exists – to aid those who need food, on an emergency basis. We want to make sure that our seniors have the food they need to sustain themselves, so we are always seeking donations to help the seniors who use our pantry. With these bad economic times, the number of people who need the food pantry keeps increasing. That is why we are always grateful to receive donations of the following items that are always in need: canned meat, canned fruit , macaroni & canned vegetables, small jar of mayonnaise, cooking oil, cereal, breakfast food, small cans of coffee, small boxes of tea, sugar, boxed milk or powder, paper towels, toilet paper. We are also asking for donations of personal care items. Often, people who need food are also in need of other basic items for their daily personal needs. These times include: razors (men/ women), shaving cream, aftershave, deodorant, soap, lotion, tissues, laundry & dish detergent, trash bags, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste, denture tablets and adhesive. There are numerous opportunities for groups or individuals to help the Pantry. Remember us if you are conducting a food drive. Please contact the Service department. For more informa- tion please call Kathy Cobb or Heather Ledbetter at the Council on Aging/Senior Center at 704-482-3488. What... I'm Not Saving Anymore on my Prescriptions at those big chains?
